Metronormal Sunday

Image result for bangalore metro logoWow !! we scream as the auto rolls into the MG road metro station. The over-hyped much awaited Bangalore Metro locally known as Namma Metro is finally here.....We walk into the metro station and are greeted by scores of cops who help us through the journey. The cheerful and affable metro staff at the Mahatma Gandhi Road Station are ever willing to help us and explain the rules of the travel. We check out the picturesque Metro Station and meet tons and tons of people of all sorts. Excited kids screaming. Busy grannies chatting Uncles Aunts Youngsters they were all there having a ball of a time. We move towards the ticket counters and are handed out our ticket cards which are powered with an enormous magnetic forcefield which will enable us to open the gates. Keep these safely we are told by Anusha a metro staffer behind the counter who gave us the tickets. We walk like lords towards the platforms and wait expectantly for the train and we see scores of people lined up we are And we are the among the luckiest ones to get a seat in the overcrowded train coach. As scores of people scurry we manage to get a seat somehow and are on the way to Bypanhalli the last stop of the metro. There is nothing at all to see there. This is just a joyride to check out the metro. As we sit in the train we whistle past Bangalores gardens parks and busy roads. In no time we reach Bypanhalli we wait for the scramble of passengers to subside and then we alight. We spend some time there and after a few minutes we head back to M G Road. We reach MG Road and have some fun, Walking on MG road has never been so crowded ever as it is now thanks to the Metro. We decide to eat something in Mc Donalds and then sip a coffee at CCD discussing about friends and adventures.Slowly the sun sets leaving a golden sky and giving us a gentle reminder that we had homes. After our day of fun we return home and cherish every moment of the day.

The Auto ride

This day was worthy to be written in this diary.  The day was pretty ordinary with usual work nothing interesting. But as the sun set and the moon took its rightful position up in the sky we knew there was something round the corner. We hired this auto to get us home and it started off pretty smoothly. We dropped a friend off first on the way and as we traveled towards home the auto we were in started slowing down. We traveled quite a distance even then thanks to the fighting spirit of the driver.Rain lashed the city yesterday making it even more difficult to travel on the roads which were covered with knee deep water. However our man dint give up and made it a point to come as close as possible to avoid the inconvenience of another auto being hired. It was a good three Kilometers away when we had the first glitch. The auto stopped. We were sitting inside the auto waiting patiently for it to move. First try- Second Try- Third Try and the auto refused to budge. We were still waiting patiently inside as excited as ever for some miracle to happen. Then couple if minutes later miraculosly started. We travelled another 500 meters and then it stopped again. Oh No we thought will we ever be able to reach home correctly in this auto. He stopped again. Waited for awhile and tried to start again same thing. It refused to go until the third try and even then after another 500 meters it stopped again. DRAT!! We thought what is going to happen now. He rolled up his pants went out in the rain like a hero and checked the vehicle. Amazing we thought when there was not a pedestrian on the road our man waded in the knee deep water and checked his vehicle. It was then that he gave us the bad news.
Sorry guys. Looks like you need to get another ride. Now when he got out of the ride onto the merciless rain we were only thinking how could we do the same. Call upon call our phones started buzzing. Parents asking where I was. In his case it was his brother. I will take awhile I said. After we hung up we mustered courage and stepped out. Slowly hopping skipping and jumping we made our way home and then we realised that we had walked a good 2 kilometeres to get there. Once we were home we heaved a sigh of relief. That was one crazy helluva ride. A crazy day for sure.

One crazy helluva day

June 1st- The morning starts off like any ordinary morning where I wake up read the newspaper sipping my coffee

and then rushing off for a walk and then coming back having a shower and then leaving for office as soon as Im done with breakfast. Then moving on the long and lunatic ride to office which is surrounded with cars trucks buses autos and what nots  whirring past me and a whole lot of cacophony. The journey would actually last for a good 45 minutes to an hour. On reaching office getting ready for the day after turning on my system is a mundane practise.

Here comes the excitement, after call upon call, a call that got me all excited and scared was here. A customer saying that his debit card broke and he wants to apply for a new one.

The process looks simple, hotlisting and then blocking the card. However this particular day it was not meant to be. firstly the validation process took time after 3-4 failed attempts and customers temperature rising up, the successful attempt came next. Then another 3-4 failed attempts to hotlist the card followed with the customer almost ready to explode like a provoked Dragon,

it took a lot of pacifying to douse the inner flames the customer was oozing with but nonetheless the flame gave way to success and a series of thank yous. As I recollect every failed attempt today sweat pours down my face sending a chill up my spine.

WELCOME TO MY WORLD
Unthinkable, Unpredictable UNIMAGINABLE !!!

Friendship on the other side of the fence too

After I moved to the classic on phone department I felt bad to leave my friends from PBK behind. But come to think of it, I believe that if you are friendly and understanding you will have friends wherever you go and even though when you see new faces first those faces will smile at you after a month. Work-wise, what looked like a mountain to conquer in March doesnt look bigger than a small hill now. Narayan, Nayana, Chandru, Peeyush, Punya, Bharath,Vinu, Shine,Madhu,Shaila thanks guys for helping me climb the ladder. Special mention to Aditi who taught me alot through her strict yet sweet way to do well here. My supervisor Sajina Ma`am for her ever so patient attitude towards us even as we walk along the path stumbling but yet certain to soar over the horizon. The odd time jokes accross the aisle on our systems will remain a memory that will refuse to fade away even as the clock ticks. The number of times we laughed the number of days we were happy will all count to the experience as I cherish these moments of being a part of India`s front running bank in service and popularity.

Life as a personal Banker

Few days after getting into phonebanking I was escorted to the Classic On Phone department by my trainer Arasan. At first it was indeed a sad parting for me as I was singled out and sent to Classic On Phone whereas my friends from the training continued to be in Phonebanking.
But after that, Slowly i began to take life as it came to me and started learning things quick and fast. Now Iam a prominent member of the classic on phone department and Im happy to say, I love my job.......

The Paranormal Sunday

The Paranormal Sunday as we can call this started off in the morning when the blogger meets a friend at the main gate next to the drain. We make our way even as we realise that we are really late for the class. But haha after all we have already gone through all this and this is just a repetition for us.We re probably going there as guest appearances and we can afford to have some fun. So we have it that we are waiting for a good bus to take us to Buoyancee the personality development centre we used to go a couple of years ago. We wait and wait for the cherry red volvo but for once it acts stubborn and refuses to show up. We are left with little options but to take a red and  grey Suvarna Bus.

The eventful bus as we would like to call it. We had just passed through silk board junction when all of us hear a CRASH.

When we turned towards the sound, we realise that a window pane was broken and this guy was trying to justify that he didn't do it. The conductor immediately summoned the bus to halt and we were waiting expectantly as to what would happen next. He walked towards the man and an argument broke up. The argument sure grabbed everyone s eyeballs and it certainly took awhile until the bus resumed.
A good 15 minutes later another incident grabbed everyone s attention. An old man next to the guy who supposedly broke the window pane swooned. The bus had a second halt. Further on we realised that he had fits and was tended to by the conductor and passengers. It really was a sad moment for all the way he screamed and collapsed.

We decide that it was much too eventful to continue or journey in this bus and we got off when a large amount of passengers got off. We then hire an auto to take us to Buoyancee. The auto guy tries to act smart and demands extra money after we get off. But we make sure he doesnt get away and we ensure that he s paid off accordingly as we hop off at Buoyancee.
At Buoyancee we walk in at 10:50 like lords and join the convo which is going on about some kites. There s another argument all of a sudden between Tarun and Ajit Uncle because Tarun had forgotten to turn his phone on silent mode.

Fears of confiscation causes Tarun to lose his cool a bit and he starts saying his name is Tushar instead which the blogger felt was funny. Later on the blogger realises his feelings and try to calm him down. Later in the tea break we ditch Buoyancee and head towards Forum. The auto guy takes a very long route giving us the jitters.

We finally reach Forum and spend some fun time with another friend. We have burgers at Mc Ds and just do some time pass. After enjoying in Forum we head back home for lunch and make our way towards the bus stop. It is certainly a long walk but it does good for our health and we decide to go ahead and do it.
We reach the bus stop and wait for the bus to take us home. We spot this dog which i think was sick.

But it was howling in a different tone that made us laugh for the first time but then we felt sorry for it later. We spot this really cute girl at the bus stop clad in green. Tarun falls head over heels for her and wants to think of what to do next.

But pretty soon her bus arrives and she gets in and zooms off. After waiting for some time our bus arrives and we go home. We return home to eat our lunch and spend some time on the computer.
Towards late afternoon an idea strikes us and we decide to go to Total Mall.
We get down and go to catch our volvo to take us there. After we reach total mall  we notice a guy being stopped by the cops and his car dickey being scanned thoroughly for quite a long time. We were just standing there and witnessing that when suddenly Tarun gets a surprise

that the cute girl clad in green who we saw at the bus stop shows up at Total Mall too.

He is all willing to go and express his feelings for her when hunger stikes him. We also see three other cute girls with the middle one most attractive of them. If the blogger was a bowler he  would ve tried to knock the middle stump out of the ground.

The mid stump changes to leg stump after few minutes and upsets his bowling rhythm. We slowly make our way to the food court area and enjoy some biryani and fried chicken.
Later after the meal we go and pick up a VCD of Anjaana Anjaani
and then realise that we actually have homes. Its half past seven on my dual watch when we rush to grab this volvo to go home.

I get in comfortably and the volvo shuts thud leaving Tarun in the bus stop. The conductor then asks him to climb up after the door is properly shut. He follows suit and as we return home.the Paranormal sunday comes to a close. We would certainly cherish this day in our life for sure.

The Joy to be back

Ever since the diary came back to Bangalore from Chennai he has suddenly began to realise the worth of being here which he had earlier not. It feels great indeed to be back among your friends and the ones who care for you and where you find happiness. The joy of travelling seamlessly and freely in the volvo buses without any fear whatsoever and the facility to taking an auto to wherever you wish to go without the problem of bargaining comes back. The joy of being with friends. To hit all the favourite places that you always wanted to go in Bangalore where you used to have fun. All come back. The feeling is wonderful.

The Transition
